Bhuvneshwar Kumar is an Indian cricketer, who plays for Uttarpradesh in domestic cricket. He is a Right-handed Batsman and Right-arm medium Bowler. He made his debut at the age of 17 against Bengal. He also plays for Pune Warriors India in the Indian Premier League. He became the first bowler to dismiss Sachin Tendulkar for a duck in first-class cricket in 2008-09 season. Later he handed an IPL contract by Royal Challengers Banglore. Kumar also represented Central Zone in Duleep Trophy and Deodhar Trophy. Apart from being a good swing bowler, Kumar is also known for his lower middle-order batting, which makes him a useful all-rounder.


Bhuvneshwar Kumar was born on 5 February 1990 in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh in a Gurjar family. He belongs to Luharli village, Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh. Bhuvneshwar test career was started against Australia during 1st test of Australia Tour to India in 2013. His partnership helped India to establish a lead of 266 runs. Kumar, got his maiden ODI Man-of-the-Match award.


Bhuvneshwar Kumar was born in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh to Kiran Pal Singh, who is a sub-inspector and mother Indresh. He has one elder sister Rekha, who was married in the year 2009. His father used to find it hard to take out time to mould Bhuvneshwar's cricket career. But sister, Rekha had understood his ability to bowl and joined him in the coaching centre. His performance instantly impressed the coach. Coaches Vipin Vats and Sanjay Rastogi has played a crucial role in Bhuvneshwar's development.


Bhuvneshwar Kumar is a young cricketer and wants to concentrate on his game. He is not dating anyone and is very much single. He said, "I am not just waiting for the right girl but also for the right age and time. Then obviously things will fall into place. I am not seeing anyone right now as I am dating cricket these days. What will happen in future is unpredictable. Maybe, after six to seven years I can think of marriage. For a while, mujhey enjoy karne do."

Bhuvneshwar Kumar was selected in the playing eleven of the first T20 day/night match against Pakistan at Bangalore. He took 3 wickets for 9 runs in 4 overs in the match. He holds the record for the best bowling figures on T20I debut. He had an economy of 2.25 in that match, which is the best economy rate in a T20I debut. Bhuvneshwar's debut wickets in T20Is, ODIs and Tests have all been bowled.

He is the first ever bowler to do so. He took 6 wickets in four test matches against Australia in the 2013 Border-Gavaskar Trophy. He also had a record partnership with MS Dhoni for the 9th wicket in the first test of the series. He has the highest score by an Indian number 10 on debut, 38.


Bhuvneshwar Kumar scored 38 runs of 97 balls on his first debut test match. The score of 38 is the highest by any Indian batsman coming at 10th position. He created the best partnership of 140 runs for 9th wicket during the match against Australia. This is also the highest partnership for the 9th wicket between India and Australia.
