Nakshatra Bagwe is an Indian actor and an award winning film maker. In 2014, he has made his film debut with "My Son Is Gay". He was seen in the films like Logging Out, Book of Love, Curtains, PR (Public Relations) and When the Circus Came to Town.

He is a LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender) rights activist and is working towards awareness of queer communities in India. In 2014, he has been chosen as India's first gay ambassador of Moovz, a social content platform for gay men. Nakshatra has participated in several Pride Parades in India.

Nakshatra Bagwe was born on 11 December 1990 in Malvan village, Maharashtra. He has studied in four different colleges G.S. college, Birla College, N.G. Acharya and Kirti College. He has done mass media with a specialization in advertising, Mumbai University. He has done PG in advertising from EMDI Institute of Media & Communication, Mumbai. Nakshatra has confessed that, he has became a filmmaker by accident.



Nakshatra Bagwe hails from Masure, Malvan is his native village. Alongwith him, his mother Swati Bagwe also attends LGBT pride marches in various cities. They both were featured in a promo of popular Indian television show Satyamev Jayte.



Awards and achievements
Nakshatra Bagwe is an amazing film-maker and actor, who has won several awards for his movies. In 2014, he even featured in a music video 'Anjana Mein Chala'. He has also done a short film titled Acceptance. For his debut film Logging Out, he received an award at Mumbai International Queer Film Festival. The movie was screened at prestigious venues like Queens Museum of Arts (New York), The Old Cinema (London) and it was also a part of Queer India European tour 2012 to raise awareness about LGBT issues in the Indian context.

Nakshatra participated in Q&A session as the debutant award winning filmmaker at Qnema - an event of Indian Institute Technology - Bombay, one of the most prestigious institutes in India. He has also received an award from the Oscar winning music composer Resul Pookutty.


Colors channel is all set to launch the new season 9 of Bigg Boss series. As per the sources, award winning film maker Nakshatra Bagwe has roped in for the show as one of the participant.
