Rajat Tokas is an Indian television actor. He has achieved recognition from the lead role in a television series, Dharti Ka Veer Yodha - Prithviraj Chauhan. He made his entry in the television world as a junior artist in the serials like Jadui Chirag, Light House for Childeren, Bango, Mera Dost, Rahul, Ek Nazar Ki Tamanna, Hey Hawain, Khoj Khajane Ki, Abhivyakti and Sagar Arts show Sai Baba. Later followed by the lead roles in the show Dharti Ka Veer Yodha - Prithviraj Chauhan and Dharam Veer. Rajat became an overnight star with a huge group of fan followers with his character Prithviraj. He played the role of Mughal emperor Akbar in Ekta Kapoor's show "Jodha akbar".


Rajat Tokas was born on 19 July 1991 in Munirka, South Delhi to Ramvir and Pramila Tokas. He has studied in the Hope Hall Foundation School, R.K. Puram, Delhi. His father encouraged him to pursue acting as his career, when he started showing some interest in this field. His father Ramvir Tokas left his job for his son's career. When he was fifteen, he went along with his dad to Mumbai to give auditions for Sagar Art's 'Sai Baba' where he got selected in the auditions and went to Baroda. He played the role of Tantya (Sai Baba's brother). Before stepping in the TV industry, he worked as a junior artist in the movies like Sajiv-Nirjiv, Kathputali, Prerna, Godh Liye Dada Ji, Stumped and W.H.O.


Rajat Tokas, who plays Akbar in Jodha Akbar, got engaged to his girlfriend Shrishti Nayyar who is a theatre artist. The two have been dating each other for over a year. They have finally tied the knot on January 30, 2015. The family booked the Udaipur palace for four days, which included the sangeet, mehendi and wedding followed by the reception. Rajat took a break from work for 15 days for his grand wedding as he wanted a much needed break and spend some time with Srishti as well.

Rajat portrayed the role of Akbar in Zee TV's show Jodha Akbar. The actor, who made his debut as the male lead with the historical show titled 'Dharti Ka Veer Yodha - Prithviraj Chauhan', came to the genre with the historical love-story of Mughal emperor Akbar and his Hindu wife Jodha. He played one of the biggest roles of his career as Mughal emperor Akbar.

His portrayal of Akbar has made the show to achieve the second position in the TRP rating charts. The pair of Paridhi and Rajat is loved and praised by all and the fans are calling them best jodi ever on the television. When asked about Paridhi, Rajat said, "Paridhi is one of those rare women whose good looks are matched by her inner beauty. I find myself tongue-tied around beautiful women in general and I'll say she is no exception."

The show that got Rajat Tokas recognition throughout the world, Dharti Ka Veer Yodha Prithviraj Chauhan which was aired on Star Plus. Today Everyone is well aware of Rajat's name. Rajat played the role of young Prithviraj Chauhan in the show. For this serial Rajat learned sword fighting and horse riding to give a more actual look to the show.
