Huma Qureshi Wiki

Huma Qureshi is an Indian actress and model, who appears in Hindi films. She has worked in theatre productions in Delhi and went on to act in various advertisements. She has made her bollywood debut with Anurag Kashyap's Gangs of Wasseypur (2012). Later, she was seen in many movies like Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana, Ek Thi Daayan, D-day, Badlapur and many more. She made her debut in Marathi with the movie Highway - Ek Selfie Aarpaar.

Biography

Huma Qureshi was born on 28 July 1986 into a Muslim family in Delhi, India. She has grown up in Kalkaji, Greater Kailash of South Delhi. She has done her History Honours at the Gargi College. Later, she has joined Act 1 theater group and performed in few theatre productions. She has worked with several NGOs and assisted a documentary filmmaker. She later moved to Mumbai and started to appear in various advertisements.

As per the latest reports, Huma Qureshi has been signed opposite superstar Rajinikanth in his next film. She will essay the role of Rajinikanth's love interest and it will be produced by Dhanush under his home banner, Wunderbar Films. The film will go on floors by the end of this month in Mumbai and is being directed by Kabali director PA Ranjith.

In Viceroy's House

Viceroy's House is an upcoming British-Indian historical drama film directed by Gurinder Chadha. Huma will be seen playing the role of Aalia in the flick which also stars Hugh Bonneville, Gillian Anderson and Manish Dayal. She becomes the first Indian actress to visit the Facebook headquarters in London. The film was released in UK and will release in India on 11 August 2017.

Family

Huma Qureshi is the daughter of Saleem Qureshi, a restaurateur who runs a chain of some 10 restaurants called Saleem's, all around Delhi. Her mother, Ameena Qureshi (a Kashmiri) is a housewife. She has three brothers Naeem Qureshi, Haseen Qureshi and Saqib Saleem. Saqib is also a film actor.

Career

Huma Qureshi made her Bollywood debut with 2012 movie Gangs of Wasseypur. Then she was seen in Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana opposite Kunal Kapoor followed by movies like Ek Thi Daayan, D-Day to name a few.

She has won the award for breakthrough performance in a supporting role for 'Dedh Ishqiya' at Stardust Awards. She has shot for almost 15 ads for brands like Vita Marie, Saffola Oil, Mederma Cream, Samsung Guru, Pears Soap and Nerolac.

In Dobaara

Actress Huma Qureshi will be seen in an adaptation of Hollywood horror movie Oculus titled Dobaara. She will be seen sharing a tumultuous onscreen relationship with brother Saqib Saleem. It focuses on the story of a brother-sister, who get separated at a young age due to an antique mirror. The movie will be relased on 19 May 2017.
